HOT PUNCH

(Mom's Christmas wassail)

2 cups sugar

1 qt. Water

Boil 5 minutes

Put in cheesecloth bag:

2 sticks cinnamon

10 whole cloves

½ tsp. Ginger

½ tsp. Allspice

Cover and simmer 1 hour

Remove bag and add

2 qts. Apple juice

2 qts. Orange juice

Juice from 8 lemons or 1 (6oz) can lemonade concentrate

Boil sugar and water until sugar is dissolved. In a cheesecloth place cinnamon, whole cloves, ginger, and allspice. Place in the water mixture; cover and simmer for 1 hour. Remove bag and add apple juice, orange juice, and lemon juice. Warm and serve.

Sipping this while making Thanksgiving dinner makes everything warm and cozy.
