1-1/2 cups cornmeal
2-1/2 cups milk
2 cups flour
1 Tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2/3-1 cup sugar (use higher amount for sweeter bread, I like 3/4 cup)
2 eggs
1/2 cup veg. oil
Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees, in a small bowl combine cornmeal and milk. Let stand 5 minutes.
In large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Add the cornmeal and milk mixture, eggs and oil and mix until smooth.
Bake in a 9x13 greased pan for 30-35 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes our clean.
